I'm throwing this out there but maybe it'll catch someone's attention.
I'm not your usual coder. I've been programming since the age of 10. I'm 52. I've also worked in forestry, farming, construction and I'm a trained blacksmith. Currently I'm programming CNC and converting vans into campers.
I'm curious if there's interesting dev work out there that I might be suited for.
Thanks for your time.

Willing to relocate: yes, to any location in Africa, where i can get the necessary permission to live and work.
Technologies: Linux, Fullstack, System Administration.
Résumé/CV: on request (software development, CTO, mentoring, training, fluent in English and German)
Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so i am looking to relocate to Africa.
While i could find a job elsewhere i believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location i am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.
I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and i am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.
I am willing to consider a volunteer position if a visa can be arranged.
UWaterloo CS grad. Want DBA work in query optimization/data layout, compiler related projects, other optimization related efforts, or try some devops (though I’m not as experienced with that)
I’ve achieved 40x improved table storage size with Postgres, placed top 5 in compiler code size optimization contest at school, love lisp macros and have led an optimization effort where we achieved 50% reduction in p50 graphQL performance across the board.
Love to teach people about the benefits of clustered data in databases. Really want to try pg_repack, I figure this could reduce costs of many transactional DBs by 30% due to using less memory and compute for similar QPS and only mildly more storage needs.
The table size optimization came from a wide keyed table with a single value as data. The proposed solution was simple (wide key, date, data). I showed that storing data as an array with start_date for indexing (one value per day in the array) reduces storage by 40x, and is also faster even with many years worth of data in the array.
The code size optimization used the standard dead code elimination, constant propagation and folding, peephole ASM optimizations. I also found that the hidden test suite had a defect where some valid code could be eliminated and it’s associated tests wouldn’t catch it, but forget the details. I informed them but they let me keep the savings.
I know how to send compiler errors in Racket IDEs using a macro (static code checks). I also made a macro which reads DB table column names and creates variables based on them, so the code would break based on typo checking against the actual table name.
The graphQL optimization came from suspiciously high serialization costs in python Apollo graphQL server. Something like 70% of time handling request in serialization. Someone else figured out a change to help here, it took some prodding them to keep looking for the right fix as 70% time in serialization seemed absolutely nuts.
Willing to relocate: no, but completely ok working US Eastern or even Pacific Timezones
Blurp:
First and foremost, I am an accessibility consultant. Next to that, I am a developer. A screenreader-using, fully blind one in fact. Why, I was featured on HN for that very thing several years ago: <https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8965048>.
I do my best work when I can somehow combine those three things. This spans from working with dev teams as a regular old dev, or an accessibility-focused one, all the way to training people on accessibility, auditing pages and helping with remediation.
I was unfortunately laid off recently and am therefore once more on the prowl for a position that would be suitable. Technologies include Php/Laravel, Python/Django, Ruby/Rails, backend JS, UNIX, Docker, Git, etc.
Skills outside of those obviously include HTML, WCAG, 30 years of accessibility experience given I live that life, screen reader proficiency and public speaking/teaching.
Full-Stack Web Developer. Looking for Elixir/Phoenix work. 7+ years of professional experience working with various web technologies, mainly Python, Django and Svelte(Kit). Would be open for working with Python/Django/Svelte(Kit). Also open to work on frontend and/or backend only projects. Website refresh/new website projects is also something I'm interested in.

I believe in creating software that delights users while staying easy to understand and extend. Over the past 4+ years, that's been my focus.
Recently, I've mainly been developing the front-ends of our applications. Two React Native mobile apps, two React web apps written in JS, and a small Svelte app. With one of our mobile apps, I had the opportunity to build a mobile app from scratch using Expo and TypeScript. Within just four months, we successfully released it to the public, aiming to provide accessible bridge financing for veterinary care.
However, working at an early-stage startup requires agility: I've also taken on building CI/CD systems using GH Actions, setting up and managing monitoring tools, deployment processes, org security. Tons of stuff.
I love meeting new people and tackling new challenges. If you'd like to connect, feel free to reach out to me here at phil@denhoff.ca. I'm always eager to explore new opportunities and problem-solving ventures.
Senior designer, looking for remote jobs/contracts. Mobile design ninja.

Hi I’m Mark, a Web Developer, Consultant and Automation Engineer originally from the UK. I specialise in devops/system tools, workflow automation integrations, and NodeJS web development.
10+ years working in IT, experienced delivering large projects for Fortune 500 companies internationally, and working remotely.
Most recently I’ve been developing social media SaaS and statically generated (a.k.a Jamstack) websites, built using GitHub actions, deployed to Netlify.
I am a full-stack developer. My most recent project is Test Lab, an open-source project for AB testing. This software is a self-hosted solution for small companies that wish to implement AB testing but need to be self-hosted for data storage requirements or want a starting place for their in-house test platform.
I love solving coding problems. While I was studying Chemical Engineering, I used my coding homework as a reward for finishing my other homework. After graduation, I continued to learn coding in my free time. I found Launch School, which is self-paced, mastery-based learning of the fundamentals. I decided to switch careers and go back to school full-time. After immersing myself in the curriculum, I joined a team of three others to create Test Lab. Some of the challenges I enjoyed working on for this project were developing the REST API interface, the full Jest test suite, and designing the PostgreSQL database.

I'm Tanul Christian, a versatile full-stack Django developer with 4 years of experience in Python.
Currently, I'm focused on developing and maintaining a custom ERP system using Django, while also exploring machine learning and home automation projects.
I acquired a strong command of the entire stack required for full-stack development, including Docker, Git, Linux, and JavaScript frameworks.
Additionally, I actively contribute to open-source projects, and I'm always eager to learn new technologies and explore
opportunities for growth.
I thrive in startup environments or small teams that appreciate innovation and autonomy, and I bring a personal and hands-on
approach to my work, aiming to create well-structured projects with best practices.
Current college senior at Northeastern University concentrating in human-centered computing (think UI development) but with coursework and professional experience in a variety of other technical functions. Planning to graduate in December.
Looking for internship opportunities through the rest of the summer and potentially fall as well, and looking for full-time work starting in January of 2024. Currently working on personal projects including a personal website to be used as a portfolio of other work. Also an endurance sport athlete (completed my first half marathon in March).
I have limited prior work experience in tech but I learn quickly, am not afraid to ask questions, and am very comfortable in collaborative settings. I have worked in financial services in the past but I really just want to build cool stuff.
I'm a researcher in theoretical cosmology with extensive experience in coming up with theoretical models, making statistical forecasts, and working with numerical simulations. At the moment, I am working primarily on making better scientific software tools, as well as making forecasts and applying machine learning techniques for upcoming galaxy surveys. I enjoy solving complex problems, building maintainable and customizable software, and automating tasks using command-line tools. Currently on the lookout for new opportunities in a more applied setting, either in research (development of scientific software), or industry (backend or data analysis/engineering).
Technologies: I'm flexible and willing to learn languages/frameworks based on the company's needs. My most recent stack was Ruby on Rails + React but i've also had professional experience with Python + Flask, PHP, etc.
I've been a software engineer for over a decade who's become more interested in the engineering leadership/mentorship side of the career. My last position was an Engineering Manager in Omada Health and I left that role in December, 2022 for personal reasons and to take some time off. I'm now refreshed and am raring to get back to building great services that improves peoples' lives.
I'm interested in Engineering Management positions. I have a preference towards the health and education sector, and prefer small to medium sized companies. If this lines up with what you're looking for or you want to learn more, shoot me an email and let's chat!
About me: I've been coding (full-stack + infra) and consulting for 12 years, mostly working on CRM/ERP systems in C# and React, but also third-party integrations and APIs. Comfortable with solo projects. I'm currently looking for a chill environment, where I can focus on delivering without having to fight for time to deal with technical debt.
I like interesting challenges (my latest favorite was figuring out how to get industrial printer ink levels from an ICMP response containing a hex payload), sane and cost-effective solutions (not going all-in on cloud with microservices unless necessary), but also keeping a healthy work-life balance (not going to neglect my family to chase deadlines). I'm a quick learner, so I can handle new technologies fairly swiftly.
Outside of work I love all things IoT and home automation in general, DIY electronics (I've designed a PCB once and it was fun), video games (sim racing especially) and producing music (mostly remixing). I'm also an F1 fan.
Feel free to contact me even just to talk.
I'm not interested in things related to crypto and metaverse.

I have a PhD in operations research---essentially, I solve optimization problems. You can give me a real-world problem and I can translate it into a mathematical model that can be solved (often optimally) via integer programming, constraint programming, or other methods. I'm the father of four young children, so I'm looking for flexible/remote part-time work (I'm also open to contract work).
I'm currently working on a column generation-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) solver as a personal project. Taking as input the predictions/requirements of the user, this solver can generate optimal lineups for multi-entry tourneys. It is, as far as I'm aware, the only DFS solver that can generate provably optimal sets of lineups for multi-entry DFS tourneys.
As a polyglot ICT professional for nearly 40 years, I've analysed datasets with billions of rows, investigated code libraries with 300k lines of code, built event websites that handled 4 million hits in four days, set-up satellite ground stations in outback Australia, built mapping tools, tracked vehicles and bicycles via GPS, reverse engineered software and hardware, built solutions to scan thousands of bar-codes, tracked livestock, trained staff, written hundreds of technical articles and developed code in dozens of languages on as many platforms, interviewed hundreds of people, produced and presented hundreds of live radio programmes, presented on stage and I've run a consulting company for two decades.
I've been an award winning team leader, have travelled, speak English and Dutch and I'm always curious. I prefer Open Source, am an active radio amateur and podcaster and love to troubleshoot, solve problems and discover and document how things work.

Hi! I'm Liam, just graduated from high school, going into UBC Sciences next year, and looking for a programming related internship/mentorship/job. I'm a snowboard instructor during the winter season, so I have some work experience. I've been programming for 7 years, but have never worked professionally in the field, mostly working on personal projects.
Technologies: Experienced product/GTM/business/design generalist (10 years banking, 5 years B2B software). PostgreSQL and MySQL, Python, and Javascript in light capacity (querying, scripting, scraping, webhooks and API calls). Postman for API testing. Front-end web/devtools for QA. Miro and Figma for design and prototyping.
Resume: linkedin/in/douglas-c-rogers/
Email: douglasc.rogers [at] gmail

Hello, I'm Doug, an experienced software business generalist looking to be one of your early non-technical hires. I've worked on product, sales, marketing, and ops for three B2B startups, including one for a year as co-founder. Previously a capital markets banker doing marketing, account management/sales, and multi-stakeholder deal execution. Adjunct instructor in digital service innovation.
Software engineer with experience building and designing scalable, production-ready, data intensive systems in the realms of marketing and ecommerce. I am also the creator of QMantis (https://qmantis.co), an open-source observability solution for GraphQL APIs. I am seeking a full-time, remote software engineering role. I am eager to work at a company or organization that values professional and personal development, inclusion, work-life balance, and that fosters a culture of transparency.
Hey, I'm Christian. Originally I studied Cultural and Social Anthropology and since then I have worked in the social sector in various roles. Lately as a team coordinator. Since I saw quite a lot of improvement potential in that role, I started to learn Python and wrote a complete web app for that team, including team organization, appointment reservation, statistics, billing, and more. This web app is now the sole tool in use for that team and everything connected with it. Stack wise I used Flask and some mild JavaScript. Furthermore I did the complete server set up. Since then I learned some FastAPI and am improving my Django knowledge. Up until recently I was located in Austria, but right now I'm in Mexico. I speak German natively, English and Spanish very well! If you need somebody who sees ways to improve existing set-ups and knows how to communicate between various teams, hit me up: derwaro@proton.me
Location: Poland
Remote: Yes (EST/PST timezones OK)
Willing to relocate: No but occasional travel OK

I am a Full Stack Developer and Software Architect with 13 years of commercial experience (esp. FinTech, Healthcare) in prototyping, MVP, backend and frontend development as well as maintenance and DevOps.
I can help you accelerate development and solve difficult problems.
Great communication skills, Startup experience, team leadership, passionate about programming, self starter, OK with freelance/consulting as well as full time work.
I also run a small team of React/React Native / Django Devs if you need more hands on board
My last role was a senior software engineer at Slickdeals, but I got caught up in a recent round of layoffs that hit a third of the company. I like solving problems, and I tend to use code to do so. I've primarily been on the backend side of things in my career, and that's definitely where I'm most comfortable. I like to think that I can adapt to new languages/circumstances fairly well, and am looking for a good group of folks to work with!
Jack of all trades, master of none. Currently interested in a product position for a company that's passionate about what they do. I've done full stack development mostly, but I'm interested in a career pivot.
Work experience includes founding a startup, reverse-engineering IoT hardware and most social networking sites, building my own home automation system (akin to home assistant), being a graphic designer, cryptocurrency hardware consultant (and interim project manager / product owner), discovering 0 days for at least one FAANG, and putting DOOM on a microwave. https://tylerfreedman.com/sociallink/ and https://tylerfreedman.com/hindsight/ are good examples of the (personal) work I've done that covers most bases.
Hey everyone! I am Shashank, a data, cloud and backend engineer with 8 years of experience. Currently, I specialize in building backend APIs, ETL pipelines, and developing security tools at an Ad Tech security company. At my previous company, I served as a founding engineer and data engineer. During my tenure, I designed and built the entire data infrastructure, payments platform, and most of the company's products. Throughout my 8-year career, I have gained extensive experience in delivering products from concept to launch, designing architecture, product & infrastructure planning, and managing small teams.
I have been working fully remotely for New York based companies since the past 4 years from India and Europe as a digital nomad. I am open to fully remote roles as well as onsite/hybrid if visa sponsorship is available.
Side Projects: Too many. Check the pins on my GH profile for a selection.
Résumé/CV: Available on request.
Email: See my HN profile.
Hi there. I'm a computer graphics technologist with 30+ years of professional experience. I try to mostly find Rust R&D gigs lately (last three years). I also get booked to fill architect, PO or agile coach roles. If I was looking for a full time role (which I am not!) it would be a CTO position.
I'm good with everything around teams and software. I have extensive experience leading people, communicating vision, ideation, design, and everything pertaining to software as a product. I am also professional level CG artist. I have been working in technical VFX production for 15 years, then in software dev for VFX for five, then as a manager in geospatial mapping/map rendering sector for another five years. I've been consulting/freelancing after, since 2020.
Technologies: Embedded systems, automotive, machine learning, signal processing, data science, real time computing, safety processes (MISRA, ISO26262, etc), MATLAB, FPGA.
Background: Masters in control theory and signal processing, working in the auto industry for the last 7 years, first on low level powertrain software then the last year or so on LIDAR/computer vision for autonomous vehicles. I've done the most work in C, but I'm now getting up to speed on python and the computer vision/numpy/data processing pipeline stack there for data quality/perception work, along with Linux desktop application architecting and development for AV utilities. Recently had to read the Linux kernel source and use the BCC tool suite to find a subtle issue in the network stack causing high latency on sensor data for AV, also coincidentally fixed most of the network timing infrastructure.
Currently working on some eBPF/BCC tools to improve GPU compute latency diagnosis and optimize model runs, with a plan to open source the results in a couple months.
Primary skills include hard real time embedded systems, safety critical applications, firmware development, system integration and complex hardware/software interaction debugging, along with detailed data analysis problems.
Side interests include machining, 3D printing, embedded system development, coffee roasting and furniture making.
Hello, my name is Dillon and I want to help you create cool stuff. I'm looking for UI and UX positions, as well as junior web development work.
I'm really into usability, especially when it comes to designing app interfaces. I like making people's lives a little easier with the skills I have. I'm always thinking about how technology can be improved and how people interact with it.
User interface design is my passion and I can do some basic front-end web development. Plain old HTML and CSS are my tools of choice. I can hack together some JavaScript given enough time. By far the most impressive JavaScript I have cobbled together is for an open-source web app I built as a passion project, which can be seen here [1]. Please take a look at my portfolio [2] to see some of my favorite projects.

Hi there! I'm Tim, an independent creative thinker with over a decade of experience developing software using web technologies. As CTO for a web development agency for four years, I have solid insight into the business aspect of modern software development, but I have felt called recently to get back to my roots of actually coding and building great software myself. I'm passionate about innovating and proactively moving my projects forward rather than just doing the bare minimum, so I'm mostly interested in smaller companies where I feel like I can have a big impact on the overall success of the company. I have extensive full-stack development experience in a wide range of technologies, but I'm most interested in using React/TypeScript on the frontend and any modern statically typed language on the backend (TypeScript/Go/Rust/Kotlin/etc). I'm looking for companies that want to get a great deal on a highly versatile and productive team member in exchange for a non-standard work schedule, see my website for more details: https://tim.zook.net

Hello! I left Amazon late last year looking to take a break before getting back into things, only to be interrupted by mass layoffs - oops! I'm looking for the next step in my career as a software developer, and would like to find a role either in web development (with a focus on back-end services), embedded systems, game development, or something similar.
I am a student of Computer Engineering, currently based in Istanbul and looking for software engineering opportunities. I have a strong background in front-end web development, database design, and have demonstrated my proficiency in HTML/CSS and UI development in previous roles.
I have experience as a Front-End Engineer at Oslo Philanthropic Exchange, where I maintained an optimized front-end application using Angular and HTML/CSS, and as a Web Developer at Brieferr, where I developed an intuitive, responsive front-end ReactJS app.
In addition to my technical skills, I have also been recognized for my communication skills and my ability to provide constructive feedback. I am eager to bring my skills and passion for web development to a new project and learn from the experiences that come my way.
Please contact posters directly rather than commenting like this in the threads. Otherwise others will start to do it this way, and we'll end up with a sort of arms race.

Hello, I am a mid-level (~4 years of professional Experience) Developer, with mostly professional experience in Lower-level Programming (currently, C++) and Back-end Development (Go, C++, C# and a bit of vanilla Javascript).
I code in my spare time, love to do that, and have recently (Oct '22) started to more regularly contribute to open-source projects, in which i have also learned Rust quite a bit better and enjoy my journey so far.
I would say i have a strong system-programmer mindset, however, i believe that my area of interest for a Full-Time job would be more in the area of backend development.
I also have a very deep interest for Cybersecurity topics, Games and even good engineering practices.
My name is Burhanuddin Rashid, and I am a software engineer with 8+ years of experience in developing mobile applications. I am an open-source enthusiast and a Google Developer Expert in Dart and Flutter.
I owe most of my career to the open-source community. I got exposed to this when I open-sourced my first Android PhotoEditor library, which reached around 3.8K stars and is still active. This led me to an opportunity to speak at Droidcon Berlin 2021, sharing my open-source learnings.
Work-wise, currently, I am working remotely from SFO for a startup called Rock, which is a chat plus task management app. We are a remote-first company and building a product that allows users to work remotely in an asynchronous manner with fewer meetings.
My biggest contribution so far in the product was to improve code and app quality by introducing testing to the team.
Before that, I was the Android tech lead to build an offline-first app to manage package delivery with real-time location tracking, collaborating with a remote team. Apart from this, I've also worked on web and backend technologies like React and Spring Boot, which gives me additional knowledge of how the system works end-to-end.
Also, in my free time, I learn and share my knowledge by writing blogs, newsletters, Youtube videos, or speaking at conferences.

So this is a bit of an odd post, but I thought I'd try this out!
I'm an entrepreneur & product person. I've been an exec at two successful exits (Duo, Rapid7) and started my own company (Ambassador Labs) whose story is still being written. I'm super-interested in LLMs and what issues people are running into. So I'm interested in anyone who could use a product person for a part-time consulting gig. The more interesting the consulting, the less you need to pay me! :)
Some examples of work I could do would be helping you tell your story, building a sales deck, or maybe figuring out what you could do with all the new AI stuff. Or something else. Thanks for reading.
I am former Tech co-founder of Zenlor. I can build product from scratch by talking to customers and coding them. I have worked in companies like Directi, Blooreach, Microsoft and have built and launched 11 products in the past 4-5 months and have close to 4000 users using them.
I value low ego, growth mindset, shipping fast culture.
I am a UI/UX designer with a background in graphic design, art direction, and more than 6 years of experience in the design industry. I am proficient in creating digital products in agile environments for the consumer and healthcare markets. With my strong analytical, research, and teamwork skills, I have successfully led a variety of projects from conception to development in both office and remote settings. I have extensive experience crafting personas, qualitative analysis, user journeys, user flows, user interface design, low and high fidelity prototypes, stakeholder presentations and design systems for UI components.
I am looking for full-time contract or freelance/consulting opportunities at the moment (up to 40 hours/week) in UI UX Design.
I currently live in Germany, but am moving to New Zealand in August.
I have a strong interest in system performance, at my previous job I spent 6 years working exclusively on performance for a high throughput backend system written in Go. I do enjoy development work in general, so I am not exclusively looking for performance focused work, but I do like it.
Some github repos representing my work
A small set of performance focused packages, most importantly including a very fast lock free queue implementation:
https://github.com/fmstephe/flib
I developed an application for solving SAT problems on high core count CPUs. This was run on a proprietary AZUL machine with 756 cores back in 2001 (which was exciting).

Hi, I am an experienced Developer (4+ years professionally) with Masters in Computer Science. 3+ years working with Angular and RxJS, the rest of it is React and React Native. In addition to my developer experience, I am also a mentor in the company I work and write blog articles about RxJS, TypeScript, etc. Also, last year I held a lecture at an IT conference about that. Currently, I am learning the backend with NestJS, Sequelize, and PostgreSQL so mowing towards Full-stack.
I'm an experienced engineer that's worked in multiple domains. I'm a pragmatist at heart with a passion for solving hard problems with technology. I excel in high-paced environments with motivated teams. I also have experience with bringing systems to scale as the company grows.

I'm Stephen, a software engineer based in Guelph, ON.
Most recently I built Herald, an open source application that simplifies deployment of a full observability pipeline, condensing a complex multi-application deployment (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Fleet Server) into just a few simple steps.
You can view the full technical case study where I discuss the use case, design decisions and implementation challenges of building Herald here: https://herald-app.github.io
Mid-career B2B technology strategy/ops leader with wide range of experiences (finance, sales, marketing, M&A, VC, consulting, operations); in a mix of large (including public) organizations, venture-backed startups, and side hustles (in descending order)
Looking for a hands-on leadership role helping build, scale, and execute robust processes across any and all of my various areas of functional expertise. I've build teams; sales and marketing plans and processes from scratch; financial models for investing, acquiring, or fundraising alike; managed large (50+) cross functional projects for turn-arounds, product launches, and M&A integration; advised and reported to C-suites; and even taught strategy and innovation at a top 20 global B School.
I can work closely with and get into the weeds with sales reps, lawyers, devs, PMs, accountants and marketers alike; and fill in as needed in about half of these roles.
Interested in joining a team solving an interesting B2B or SMB problem with a healthy culture and ambitious but reasonable goals. Sector and location/remote flexible.
Hi there, I'm Zach Jones, a Frontend Engineer with 3 years of professional experience developing web applications with modern technologies like TypeScript/React/Redux. Before software engineering, I had a background in Marketing, IT Consulting, and running a successful Ecommerce Business.
I'm a lifelong learner and I'll learn anything to help me build practical tools that provide real-world value. I have no problem starting ambiguous projects and taking them from 0 to 1.
I'm a seasoned web development expert with over a decade of experience helping companies take their products from concept to market delivery.
Over the past four years, I have been exclusively working remotely. Before that, I worked onsite in San Francisco and Berlin, collaborating with highly successful companies (one recently acquired for $7.1b).
My strengths are in front-end, UX, product development, but I also know my way around a back-end codebase. I have led multiple front-end teams and have also independently developed many products from scratch.
Hey there, I’m a grad student studying Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in computer vision. Anyway, I’m going backpacking this summer in Spain but I’m thinking about what to do next if I can’t get someone to pay for a PhD or if I’m ready to be done after this next year. Happy to talk with people and start making connections, etc.
I am a career changer from
aviation. I was a professional pilot for over a decade and always hobby programmed here and there on the side. I got sick and my eyes got messed up a bit so flying is out (turns out they frown on flying when you cannot see well), but I can still write code, so it’s time for a new adventure.
I have a BS in Aviation, a BS in Math, and my current masters program is mostly focused on comp sci and stats. Personally, I’m really interested in building tools and just generally seeing where we can leverage these tools to make people’s lives better.
I speak English as my native tongue, I’m conversant and can get by in Spanish, and my Russian is pretty good (I was an exchange student in Ukraine many years ago, just need to practice again).

I'm a largely-self taught Full-Stack developer with a focus on the Front-End/Design side of things. I've got ~6 years experience professionally programming. At my last position I went from Developer => Tech Lead in about a year and before I left was leading 5/6 teams without failure to deliver. Knowledgeable in 508 compliance and architecting entire projects/Working within departments to solve issues. I'm the kind of developer who asks a lot of questions to as many people as necessary to get the job done.

Resume/CV: On demand
Some extra info: I built and run a site that receives ~20 mill pageviews per month(private, can showcase on interview if needed). I'm currently interested in generative AI as side project, have experience creating serverless pipelines for GPU tasks to reduce costs instead of using something like Replicate, huggingface etc. Recent public examples of my work:
https://husks.org/ - Simple interface for ChatGPT api. Differentiating feature was document summarizing. Had other big plans for it but got too much competition
https://urpics.art/ - Built my own serverless api for the dreambooth training and inference to reduce costs. Currently working on a pipeline for spot pods to reduce costs even further(1/10th possible).
Howdy HN! I'm a frontend dev of 8 years, with excellent design chops, refined soft skills, and a take-no-prisoners approach to getting amazing things accomplished.
I normally don't post things that sound so self-aggrandizing, but I suppose advertising myself as a commodity among those in the know is the place to do it: I've been referred to as a 10x engineer by developers with multiple times more experience than myself, I have led teams to great success in accomplishing tight deadline'd feature rollouts, in rewriting old webapps using modern best practices, and at each of my prior roles I have gone the extra mile (or several as the case may be) to drive productivity, increase code quality, and better team cohesion.
Hello everyone! I'm actually not a dev; I'm a content developer/manager + technical writer, who enjoys all things technology, and related fields like energy & medtech. Right now I'd like to support devs as a Digital Content Manager or Technical Writer. Open to many industries (and have experience with many industries!).
I'm Wayne, a software engineer based in Portland, OR.

Hi! My name is Chris Shen. I am a full-stack software developer with a background in product management. I love to explore uncharted territories in order to solve complex problems. My greatest achievement so far is working with 3 other talented developers to create Otter (otter-framework.dev), an open-source framework for developers to implement peer-to-peer video communication functionalities. We started off with zero knowledge of WebRTC but ended up building a full-fledged solution powered by a serverless backend within 2 months.
Would love to hear from you and discuss more! Thank you for your time!

I am currently working as a Senior Director at an Ed-Tech startup. I spent the last nine years going from entry-level, foot-in-the-door work to being a part
of and consulted on all areas of business, technology, marketing, and sales within the company. The past nine years have been spent balancing between the start-up life internally and externally with the traditional, old-school publishing partners. My current role has moved me into more of a consultation position which does not require much of my time on a day-to-day basis. It has been a fun and difficult challenge that is now leaving me wanting more.
I am interested in part-time or contract work as need be. I would be willing to discuss moving to full-time if the project seems interesting enough or if there is a good fit.
My current desired areas of interest are
* Climate Change, Climate Tech (especially anything ocean related)
* Agriculture (AgTech)
* Automotive (Qt)
* Robotocs (MicroPython)
* Solar
* General Charity or 501(c)(3)
* National security
I enjoy the startup life so I would be perfectly fine with a pre-seed company or one on the ropes. Larger companies present their own challenges, so I would be glad to return to that life as well, if the fit is nice.
I have no interest in anything `crypto' or `web3` related.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to follow-up. I am always glad to chat! If you're ever in Northern New Hampshire, first round is on me.
Technologies: Modern web stack/architectures, API/SDK product management, cross-platform mobile apps (Flutter), all popular PM tools and frameworks, payments ecosystem and APIs, product launches.
I'm a technical product manager looking for a new opportunity. I've taken some time off for personal reasons, but now actively searching for product roles at ambitious companies. I've thrived in technical startup environments in the past, with multiple successful 0-1 launches in a variety of spaces. My most recent launches were SaaS products in fintech and identity.
I welcome an opportunity to discuss the particulars further at the email above.
I've spent the last two years very successfully trading and I am interested in a career where I need to think like this. I've written a comprehensive blog on what I did in lieu of a CV, as it's more interesting and tells you more about who I am and how I think.
I'm expanding my skillset from just programming and trading to include generative AI, currently making a mentoring companion to language learning. I've got strong soft skills from years working in care. I'm seeking junior trading roles or internships, or a similar career where risk is thought about a lot.

While I have years of professional experience as sound engineer and graphic designer, I'm looking for an opening that will allow me to use more of my technical knowledge and do more than personal projects or OSS contributing. I'm fast-learning, thorough and have solid soft-skills. In code I value simplicity, efficiency and documentation. Standing between the worlds of technology and humanities, I'm perfect to bridge the gap.
Having realistic expectations, I'm looking for an entry-level position.
As a product designer with 7+ years of experience, I have lead effort across a wide range of products and problem spaces. My guiding principles have remained the same from the moment I stepped into my first product design role; keep it simple, lead with intent, and be a force-multiplier. I'm passionate about these principles and make every effort to align them with my career goals. I am currently crafting amazing experiences with Immigrate, a Saskatoon-based company that matches workers with Canadian employers at an international level. At Immigrate, I lead the launch of our immigration ecosystem, the first tool of its kind in the immigration industry that allows a nearly 10x increase in application processing speed. Prior to Immigrate, I worked with Vendasta to build end-to-end experiences for a variety of users within the b2b realm, and several other startup companies in industries spanning from automotive to web development. I believe my range of experience is an asset and allows me to approach problems from different angles not immediately apparent. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering, tinkering and participating in hackathons.
I'm Vikram, a lead-level Software Engineer looking for a part-time contract role while bootstrapping on my own startup, Cling.
I built Cling’s entire tech stack from scratch. SwiftUI, Compose, MVVM arch for iOS. Ruby on Rails for API. Compose, Flow, MVVM arch for Android. I’ve worked on native and full-stack teams of varying sizes. I have a lot of experience with design, product and leading projects to completion.
As the tech founder of my startup, I also taught myself Ruby on Rails to build the API, fundraised to expand the team, and led the Android dev team to launch.
I’m ideally looking to work in mobile-focused products. I’m reliable, communicative, and eager to ship quality products!

- I've been tinkering with some form of technology from an early age. My earliest memories include:
-- making custom Neopets pages for myself and friends
-- turning my Sony Vaio into a Hackintosh - it worked fairly well except for the WiFi module which was solved by attaching a USB WiFi adapter.
- I have prototyped gadgets with Arduinos and even built a 2-lead ECG as University project.
- My capstone project was an attempt to sort a given audio clip into one of four categories; I was responsible for building the classifier in MATLAB. This project peaked my interest in Machine Learning.
- I have since worked as an Analyst in one of the top cancer institutes in the world (Princess Margaret), a Sales Engineer at a medical hardware startup.
- In the last 1.5 years, I've worked as a software engineer (amongst other hats) at a healthcare startup that was focused on automating clinical workflows; of note: we attempted to generate clinical notes from patient-physician conversations. I was heavily involved in all aspects of the project from implementing the voice functionality to prototyping with large language models and conducting interviews with end-users etc.
- Currently, in my free time, I'm following the fast.ai lectures with the goal of creating a 'smart compose' for clinical notes - an idea that's stuck with me from my discussions with our end users.

I worked odd jobs (mostly tutoring) throughout the first year of the pandemic and I currently work part-time for a London-based tech startup to help automate a few of their routine processes. I can do anything you throw at me, hit me up!

I am independent contractor looking for new challenges. We can easily start with part time job to minimize the risk for you and me and it may develop into a fulltime gig later on. I worked for 10 years in a coorporate Java ecosystem followed by being a technical cofounder in a Twitter-like social network. Beside programming I managed teams of up to 5 people, loved to work closely with UI and UX and got my BSC and MSC inbetween.
I would love to have a quick video call to see if there is a fit :)
I'm a full stack software engineer with years of experience in JavaScript/Node.js, Typescript, Ruby, React, and PostgreSQL. Most recently, I built Test Lab, an open-source A/B test and feature flag platform. Test Lab case study and documentation available here: https://testl-ab.github.io/
I'm looking to return to work after a sabbatical. I tend to describe myself as a "data generalist"—I can build a modern data stack on my own if I need to, with a data warehouse, ETL, Analytics eng, ML and DS, streaming, etc. I'm basic-level at frontend but would like to learn more. Not very comfortable setting up infra on my own but could do basics. I have five years of experience.
My preference would be to work on a DS or data/ML-intensive products, at a smaller company. Also interested in full-stack or pure backend eng. Top priority is to work on a product in an effective org with effective people.

Hey all, I'm Blaz! Experienced generalist problem solver with almost 20 years professional experience building solutions. A pragmatist who likes to use the best, not the shiniest tool for the job. Comfortable with infrastructure work and designing architecture. Easy-going and an excellent communicator. Recently been contracting but open to the right perm role.
My career has been split between Developer and DevOps roles, and I enjoy both.
Also, I have been working remotely since 2019 in groups that span a wide range
of time zones, but I would welcome a hybrid role.
The reason my last position was for only one year is because it was a startup
and we ran out of funding.

My name's Muhammad and I'm a full-stack dev with a focus on front-end. I have experience building full stack apps on my own and at work, I enjoy learning new technologies and using their capabilities to improve or build new things. Recently, I've been playing around with generative AI to build small helper tools for myself.

I'm a backend engineer with about 5-6 years of experience. I've been programming since I was about 13. Recent side projects have focused on using GPT to automate fuzzy things like scraping Twitter and dealing with customer service bot menus. Over the last year or so, I also read a few hundred papers related to strength training and turned that research into a book on climbing training, which I'm currently shopping around to publishers
Seeking: Part-time technical work to extend runway while building programmatic SEO/translation growth agency.
I can integrate and maintain API connections, automate processes, administer servers, monitor processes. I'm also not asking for a lot of compensation, more experience and stability right now. And I'm middle-aged with a family so not here to mess you around.

Been working as a dev for over 15 years now, mostly in startups so alway learning, very fast mover.
The last few years has mostly revolved around building large internal cloud consumption platforms for enterprises through a boutique consultancy; involved from initial pitches through to implementation.
Previously successfully raised VC funds and while ultimately unsuccessful in the long run, learned a lot.
I've become sort of a generalist and am open to hearing about any opportunities but some things I'd be particularly suited for or interested in:
Roles where I can apply my mathematical experience. I've written two papers in random matrix theory. I don't expect most employers will be interested in the results themselves but I have strong linear algebra and probability fundamentals.
Full stack software engineer roles.
I'm also interested in trading. As a side project I traded just over a million dollars of volume last month and made a $400 profit.

I do communication mostly in teams and google meet for my past and current work.
I had experience working with people in UK, US and India. My manager was from India and Product Manager from UK and US.
I have no timezone issue because we can communicate asynchronously and meeting can be scheduled at the overlapped time.
I am a reasonably long-time "coder" that waited way too long to actually get serious about becoming a job-ready software engineer. I would be looking for junior positions, but would bring more to the table than the average boot camp grad. I am enthusiastic about learning new technologies and am capable of doing so with minimal guidance.
Misc: I'm mainly looking for security engineer/analyst or game anti-cheat roles. I have a great interest in hedge funds, and internal security roles. I've been doing contracting, so it'd would be nice to switch to an internal role. I'm open to government contracting work, but I would need to be sponsored since I don't have a clearance. I haven't earned a bachelor's.

Industrial engineer by training, now a Backend Dev with 18 months experience. I love when I am able use both skillsets as sort of personal vertical integration.
I'm a bit in a niche, specialized in Data Science training and candidate screening / analysis of their skill gap.
If you're hiring Data Science/ML Engineers/MLOps candidates, and you want to either do a technical interview during the process, or you need to do a "Skill Gap" analysis once they're hired, let me know.
You just tell me the technologies that your company uses and I build tailored projects for candidate to resolve. Then submit a full report on their strengths, weaknesses and the aprox time for them to catch up (if any).
I'm a final year student. I have worked on Full Stack Development and DevOps. At the present I'm learning game development, Virtual Reality and ML. I'm ready to learn and adapt to the technologies required by the company. More details about my projects and experience is available in my résumé :)

Quick summary: I worked at a webhosting company as Linux admin, am a big self-hoster, have some hardware experience in electronics repair. I am looking to relocate out of my country.
(Not your conventional resume sooo let's call it a desperate plea summery!)
I'm poor on for the first time in my life unwilling participant to the formally known as food stamps now ebt . They really should rename it to a guaranteed path to anorexia & significant weight loss program! It's barley enough to quiet the growling of my stomach just shy of a low blood sugar trembling. Anyways I will shut up I need a remote job. I'm even more embarrassed by this not food stamps but my next achievement or lack of it.... I'm currently taking my GED due to child abuse & being neglected I received no education & a free bonus of osteoporosis in my 20's so yeah I'm a very hard worker & I will just about do anything. I live in the country so yeah no bus stops for an hour & a half all gravel roads so I'm at the mercy of my story & pull at someone's heart strings rather than my education achievements. I need to walk out in front of a car & be done with this alone struggle no family & my BFF'S were murdered. A planet of billions & I'm at a 0/0 I'm sorry for stealing 8 mins of your life that you'll never get back. I'm a strain to the human race I wish you'd still go to heaven after you commit suicide. I can't go to hell well I'm there now. Thank you sincerely a desperately embarrassed saddened woman
P.S.
A Woman who needs a job working is what I need to be doing but I'm forced to beg. I'm no too proud, I'm begging.
As a biologist seeking to transition into a software engineering/data science role, I have been working on personal projects to increase my skills in Python and SQL.
I am extremely interested in pursing a data science position.
QA, Developer, Automation - Focus on security, hardware and web backend. Love to experiment, read code, probe stuff that shouldn't be probed - make and break things.
I am really good at automating, especially when it comes to development processes. But I also have 5 years of experience in business process automation. I am a quick study, so I can learn whatever tools are necessary to accomplish the needed tasks.

Availability: We are a product consulting & development studio. Due to budget cuts, 2 of our large customers have paused their engagements. We do have more bandwidth in the coming months. We also provide fractional engineers for services.
In the last engagement, we managed both the front end (Storybook + React) & back end (Serverless). We follow a ticket-based branch strategy & have written unit test cases (TDD) as well.
I'm a software engineer with 7 years of experience, primarily in early-stage startups. I'm very used to being part of distributed remote teams. Over the years, I've developed some qualities that define how I approach work by being:
* a quick learner and having developed a good ability for rapidly acquiring new skills and knowledge
* always ready to adapt as needed
* always doing my best to understand the product to guide my technical decisions
* proactive, but open-minded; ready to voice my opinion and just as ready to accept different opinions
* a strong believer in the importance of a well adjusted team and the power of effective teamwork
Although I consider myself a generalist, my passion lies in backend development. However, I also enjoy working on frontend projects and engaging in devops tasks. I am adaptable and willing to contribute wherever the team needs me. While the tech stack is very important to me, I'm also the happiest when I can be working on something that'll bring an improvement to other people's lives, in whatever form it may be.
I have a good deal of experience with functional programming, having used both Clojure(script) and Scala for the main part of my career, however I've also had experience, to a lesser extent, with Javascript, Typescript and Java. Though I have loved working with Clojure, I'm open minded about working with other languages as I believe every learning experience comes with its benefits and will have its contribution in making me a more well rounded engineer. I miss Scala's type system when I'm working with Clojure, I missed Clojure's REPL when I was working with Typescript, I read articles about Erlang's/Elixir's beam VM with a bit of jealousy and I would be quite interested in diving into Haskell, Rust, Zig, among others.
Well versed in python and javascript, but capable in other languages as well (have deployed Java/Golang/C recently). I've recently been working in privacy/security, currently working on combating disinformation. I'm looking for a new role currently as the non-profit I founded lost two big grants.
My experience ranges from working on backend APIs to frontend SPAs as well as building ML pipelines, bespoke search engines, mobile apps. My strength is in diving into new areas and getting up and running quickly. I work extremely well in entrepreneurial contexts, balancing long-term goals with short-term deadlines in all technical decisions.

tl;dr deeply versatile eng manager with a broad+deep technical background and startup experience
I'd love to find a position either as an engineering manager or a senior engineer on a team that can be remote or hybrid in Denver. I enjoy building things, but I actually really enjoy and I’m good at the organizational and leadership aspects of work - my past cofounders can attest to this. I'm happy to build some stuff on the way there if that's what a company needs.
I have software engineering experience all the way up and down the stack, in multiple languages (primarily Python) and on multiple cloud providers, and across a lot of different fields and weird edge cases between software, hardware, manufacturing, machine learning, and so on. I was a mechie before I was a software engineer, and I've been a lot of flavors of software engineer.
I've also started companies, been an Artist in Residence at GitHub (for the Arctic Code Vault), done operational consulting for one of Outside magazine's Best Companies to Work For, and in general my resume is peppered with unconventional cross-functional projects and skillsets and leadership roles. I navigate ambiguity skillfully, learn fast, communicate effectiely, and generally have great EQ and nonlinear/network effects.
I'm prioritizing good work relationships, culture of healthy work-life balance, comp over equity (I just got out of an all-consuming startup and need to rebalance) - I'm open to something at a larger company if the fit is right.
TL;DR
DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineer with 8+ years of experience building cloud platforms, deployment pipelines, and web apps. Looking for a Platform/DevEx/DevOps role either within a centralized Platform team or embedded within a product engineering team. I enjoy building things that help increase developer productivity, velocity, and overall happiness :)
Technologies: Python & Java (many years each), Go/Golang (newest preferred), Rust (newb but admire), C (recent refresh, once daily/fav lang but avoid), web dev, SQL, git, Linux, Docker, cloud hosting, distributed systems, threading, performance & scalability, some ML (plain old math & queries, Bayesian models/inference, OLS regression, game actor behavior models, not neural nets)
decades of programming. solid computing system fundamentals. problem solving. brainstorming. prototyping. communication. technical team lead. software architect. SRE-ish. author of cheatsheet on Software Performance & Scalability. former Orbitz/Cheaptickets senior engineer on core tech. Tech research, due diligence and consulting for US State Department, to help bolster national/allied public APD defenses. Indie game engine & personal tool creator since childhood. built & ran small computer game biz years ago. Wrote, shipped & sold a zombie apocalypse sim a decade ago, directly to the public.
For a recent client I did systems programming R&D on mem alloc latency and SEGV resilience, in C for Linux/POSIX, delivering new code, benchmarks, a diagram and a report successfully demonstrating how to upgrade the performance and uptime of their near-RT revenue-sensitive ad-bidding backend
Lately I have 2 side projects in free time: building an educational sim (in Golang) about dire threats to democracy & climate (along with possible fixes); and writing a book on performance & scalability (in public view in my GitHub).
This summer, I am thrilled to be selected as a Google Summer of Code 2023 Student Developer at GitLab for the second consecutive year. My GSoC project aims to enhance GitLab's merge request comparisons using git range-diff, enabling effective code reviews and verifying changes during rebasing.
Recently, I have been selected as a mentee for The Linux Foundation's LFX Mentorship Spring 2023 Program, to work on the Cortex Project. I am working on implementing an API in Cortex for importing old Prometheus TSDB block data to simplify the migration of data from Prometheus to Cortex.
Last summer, I worked as a Google Summer of Code 2022 Student Developer at GitLab, a DevOps platform. I worked with the Gitaly team, which is a Git RPC service which is responsible for handling git calls made by GitLab. My tasks were to integrate the mailmap feature in GitLab. Apart from that, I also worked on GitLab's contributor graph feature to use git-shortlog which will improve the performance of the graph.
I have been actively contributing to other OSS projects like Zulip which is a real-time team chat system and Git, a distributed version control system. At IVY, I have written functions and tests for the ML transpiler and deep learning framework. In the process, I learned not only about how web platforms work, but also have some knowledge of how low level systems like kernel work.
My story is that even though I've always been talented at programming, to the point of winning the national programming championship of Croatia back in 2002, I didn't start it seriously until 2015. I had a dream of wanting to pursue the Singularity, and I worked hard every day, weekends included, to get closer to it. I wanted to get better at ML, so I worked on ML libraries in F#, which eventually grew into work on my own programming language Spiral. It took years of full time work, but I implemented my own PL, and a GPU based ML library from scratch. You can check out the language on the VS Code marketplace. This experience made me really good at implementing ML papers and algorithms. It also made a master of functional programming, and a strong generalist. Most of what I know isn't on the resume, and I am even familiar with dependently typed programming in languages like Agda, and theorem provers like Coq.
Unfortunately, I've stumbled. What I really wanted to do using these skills is create something like a poker bot, and crush the online gambling dens, but no matter how much effort I put into ML, I could never overcome the state of the art in a significant way. This is a huge problem since I am interested in RL, but RL only works on toy problems. I hate that I know everything that is wrong with current ML techniques, but have no idea how to fix it.
Instead of the world we have in the current timeline, it was obvious to me from the start that the way ML is currently done is broken, but I thought the research community would be able to overcome it, and give me some tools I could use to make a real world effect. Also, I thought there would be a ton of AI chip startups coming out with novel hardware, in which Spiral could have found its niche, but so far they've been a huge dud, and NVidia reigns supreme.
I am really looking for work so I can finance my own ML research, thus far I didn't need it, but I've come to the conclusion, that if I want to make a real breakthrough, I should be implementing genetic programming systems on AI hardware (not GPUs) but that approach would be highly intensive on computational resources which I cannot afford. In my work on Spiral, I've pretty much reinvented the field of partial evaluation, and if the job involved making advanced software like interpreters on hardware that had poor software support, I'd probably be peerless at that, even compared to anybody else in the world.
But as for web dev jobs which I am seeking currently, it feels like I am mid range in terms of skill. In the past few months I've gotten familiar with React, Fable, and now am pivoting to Blazor, and by the end of the year, I should be good at that.
I have roughly 7-8 years of professional experience post-college in web development on both large and small teams covering front-end and backend architecture and tooling, full-stack feature development, deployment, QA and testing, and feature maintenance.
I'm very good at picking up new skills and figuring out how to solve difficult or nebulous problems. I have a lot of experience being in situations where there isn't another more expert developer within a company to go to if I can't solve a problem, and where a product feature or bug requires me to pick up a new skill or do my own research and to figure out a solution on my own; everything from answering external questions from clients about SSL certificate or encryption requirements to debugging and patching 3rd-party libraries. I tend to be a very self-motivated developer.
I would like to think that I coordinate reasonably well with product owners and feature designers while building products as well. I enjoy iterating on designs, trying things out to see what works and what doesn't work, and figuring out how to scope features in an agile way to keep projects from spiraling out of control. I've done a lot of independent/personal programming outside of traditional corporate work, and that combination of independent and professional experience has forced me to develop some understanding of the entire cycle of designing, planning, prototyping, releasing, and maintaining software. Alongside normal feature development I make a strong effort to leave teams and products in a better position and in better condition than I found them.
At this point in time I am primarily interested in experimenting with contracting and part-time work, although depending on the offer/context I'm not opposed to at least talking about full-time positions. But particularly if you have a specific problem to solve or your company needs help building out or prototyping a feature, I'd love to get in touch :)

Hey, I'm looking for junior opportunities in sysadmin or devops roles. Contact me if you're looking for someone to fill a role like that, or feel I could be a good fit for another similar position.
I'm not your usual coder. I've been programming since the age of 10. I'm 52. I've also worked in forestry, farming, construction and I'm a trained blacksmith. Currently I'm programming CNC and converting vans into campers.
I released a game last year on Steam after a break from programming: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2116950/Tiny_Solar_System...
I made #1 spot on Hacker News last year for this silly site: https://weighoff.net/ (my favourite question: https://www.weighoff.net/?option1=William%20Shatner&option2=...)
I'm releasing a new game this month: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2434510/Gravity_Waves/ built in just over a month. #solodev. I did everything but the music. While also working in non-IT full-time. Follow https://twitter.com/marsupial_pouch for updates.
I'm curious if there's interesting dev work out there that I might be suited for.
Thanks for your time.
