Good article. The toxic secret is that a class of these exist, like myristicin in nutmeg. And that nature can alter coumarin into dicoumarol, yet has no obligation to announce it.

This is why a friend of mine refuses to eat nutmeg, and since he remarked on it, I've used it much less frequently because he was right.
