This is my take, Google trying to pull this sheeit is them trying to push further into Enterprise while at the same time giving Big Brother way more keys to more of our doors!
with the added positive (negative for us) of recouping money from lost ad revenue, AKA: UNADULTERATED GREED!
They don't want people side loading ReVanced/NewPipe and apps like them because they don't have an answer for it! And you can clearly see this with the steps they've tried to take in the last couple years, slowly locking down the Chrome browser and punishing people using things like Ublock Origin.
When they look over at Apple devices they see that in order to load similar apps on their platform, the user not only have to be somewhat technically savvy, but also have to go way out of their way and pay money to share a developer account to sideload apps at least here in the US.
And the amount of people doing that is not that many so Apple allows it while all the other norms have to pay for their YouTube premium monthly while still receiving ads!
YOU WANT TO FEEL SAFE, GO BUY AN IPHONE EVEN THOUGH YOU WON'T ACTUALLY BE SAFE! My take is if you're going to use technology learn how to use it properly and know the risks associated with it!
All of this eerily reminds me of how anti-firearms laws try and get made into legislation here in the US! It's all feel good measures that are voted on/talked about with complete ignorance of the subject matter and if actually become law, only hurt the law abiding without actually solving any of the problem! The problem being the people..
If this gets enacted I hope it ruins Google, but it won't they're too big to fail unfortunately! They are literally destroying the only reason to buy an Android device, FREEDOM!
