Ask HN: What are your favorite YouTube channels to watch passively?

One big reason I watch the news is it’s good background noise to watch passively while doing other things. For a few years now I’ve been kind of done with it, between the ratings-driven sensationalism and decreased focus on local stories.

What kind of YouTube channels People here like to have on in the background. Where it’s interesting, but doesn’t require deep focus.

For passive watching, I like watching factory line processes... it feels like a IRL version of Factorio, lol:

https://www.youtube.com/@Process-X (actually a different one... rip-off name, maybe, but they have different content)

For semi-involved watching (like I usually pay attention, but sometimes multitask and still really enjoy it) are the civil engineering channels. As software guy, especially, I love learning about how the built world is engineered:

https://www.youtube.com/realengineering

And of course there's https://www.youtube.com/@veritasium and https://www.youtube.com/@kurzgesagt, informative and fun videos on a variety of topics (most of which I don't care that much about, so it's fine to just have on in the background)

If it doesn't require a deep focus it can not be considered interesting. I love this russian-speaking channel on math education https://www.youtube.com/@micarest

Funny reaction videos to old episodes of To Catch A Predator and Hoarders.

Bankless analyzes the crypto-space which has social, legal, psychological and cultural dimensions.
