I haven't bothered to look at the Netcraft reports recently, but the last time I looked Microsoft had only about 30% of servers. The other 70 % were Unix/Linux.
The Internet runs on Linux mainly. Then of course most phones run Android, a Linux derivative. And Apple OSs are based on BSD, another UNIX.
Microsoft is pretty much relegated to the Desktop (as I pointed out above), and the Desktop is in decline due to the decline in numbers of PCs sold. And a lot of those PCs even, mine included, are purchased with the Windows OS which is immediately blown away and replaced with another OS, which is usually one of the Linux derivatives.
