I'm not saying I like it either, but I find that it wasn't hard to get used to. Probably because I use arrow keys a fair deal outside of contexts with vim keybinds so I was forced to adjust.

I've also adjusted to: the Happy Hacking Keyboard diamond-style arrow keys, and the compact-style arrow keys e.g. on laptop keyboards.

Of course the right approach is suggested by the other reply, which is to not be lazy like me (remap keybinds, get vimium, etc.).

This is why layering is so nice. I have the arrow keys mapped to their vim locations and it’s been a game-changer
