The really sad thing is, looking at these pages, I see the things I want to do in one spot- naive but refreshing.
But they are bloody ugly. They all attack usability with a baseball bat. Except for Apple- it looks different. the only somewhat prescient site by 2.0 standards at least. but not responsive of course.
I helped people design webpages on the early www and even with 1.0 limitations you could make sites look a LOT cleaner than this. But very little thought was given to usability. I don't even think accessibility was a concept in the 90s IIRC.
