Personally, I don't mind it. It's a big deal in the world of open source, and as someone who was mostly uninitialized about CentOS and RHEL after all these years, I find these posts somewhat enlightening, even this one. I'll grant you that it's probably not necessary to have three posts or have them all go to HN's frontpage, but all-in-all it doesn't seem like such a big deal either. The people voted, I suppose.
