Just a quick plug as I'm starting the interview playback (the link here is an audio podcast): the New Books Network is an IMO hugely underappreciated podcast gem. It's a sprawling set of podcasts across many academic disciplines. If you're interested in meaty but not necessarily top of the moment explorations (many podcasts tend to be highly topical and follow current events, which if that's what you're attempting to escape becomes 1) counterproductive and 2) tends to age poorly).
But as an informative distraction, NBN is excellent.
(Individual podcasts and episodes may have variable, and occasionally poor, audio quality. But there's an immense back-catalogue to choose from. Happy hunting!)
