Then they were redesigned and everything was moved to different places. I’m sure they still work fine, it’s just a learning curve to understand where everything was moved. It’s a matter of opinion but IMO the Firefox and chrome tools both have a more intuitive UI as well. They've recently been re-redesigned, particularly the Elements and Network tabs. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the latest version.

I don't remember any recent redesigns. The Web Inspector has looked more or less the same since Safari 9 was released in 2015. [1]
