I'm working on version 3.0 of my feed reader app NewsNinja: https://ainews.ninja

Version 3 will add more feed types: Podcasts, Mastodon, Twitter/X, Calendar, Reminders, Weather, Finance tickers and more.

It will have a new UI, new features like notifications and local transcripts and summaries and many quality of life improvements.

I'm currently working on NewsNinja[0] in my spare time, a RSS reader app that groups articles talking about the same story and optimizes reading time.

I started it a couple of months ago, I was tired of reading the same story posted across different news outlets.

Over time I added new features like summarization, the ability to hide articles that have specific words in titles, etc.

Currently working on adding custom themes and fonts for the reader mode and various customization options.

It's a fun little side project, still much to do to improve it, I'll be busy for a while!

I'm working on a news analysis project where I'll have to identify articles that speak about the same event. For now, I think it'll be based on date + "asking an LLM", but you probably came up with something better. How do you approach this problem?

You can send email from your alias with the Mail app, I do it every day. You need to set it up manually (not use the certificate from fastmail). After you set up the email address, go to Settings -> Password and accounts -> Tap your account -> Tap you email -> tap the "Email" field and then you can add your aliases tapping the button "Add Another Email"

I'm pretty sure you can add e-mail aliases even after using the certificate from Fastmail.

(Disclaimer: this is undoubtedly true on macOS; I haven't done this sort of thing on iOS in ages.)

From Safari 12, only Safari App extensions will be allowed, installed from the Mac App Store. No more self signed extension or Safari Extension Gallery.

Hi HN, I've released Bitfolio, a simple app to track your crypto currencies investments and coin values.

It's very very simple and I'm planning to add more coins and exchanges in the near future.

Main features:

- Tickers with historic granularity

- Portfolio with Forex support

- iCloud Sync

- Themes

- Forex

Supported exchanges are Kraken, Coinbase, Bitfinex and Cryptopia NZ.

Supported crypto currencies: BTC, BCH, ETH, ETC, LTC, XMR, XRP, XEM, DASH, MIOTA, NEO.

Hope someone will find it useful, if you have any questions or feedback, I'm happy to answer.

Have you tried Bear Notes? I switched from Evernote last year and made my life easier.

Looks really nice, but I need my notes app to run on Windows for work. That’s one reason I use Evernote. It is so close for me, but falls short with note creation.

No source control, no backups and you "play" with a new software to see how it handles 5000 files? Well... not sure what to say here..

Touchboard: http://www.timelabs.io/touchboard Open source app for iPad to send keys to your pc / mac. I use it for gaming, I really find it useful, here is a video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1KOUj9SK_c

I've also made CbrConverter: https://github.com/timefrancesco/cbr-converter

Coverts pdf to cbr and vice versa.

And then there are a bunch of other small projects like:

- Ebay Search Scheduler (schedule Ebay searches with custom parameters)

- Twitter Time Machine (download and browse your twitter timeline) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tweet-time-machine-2/id83212... - windows version also available

- Autosleep (put the windows down for good) https://github.com/timefrancesco/autosleep

And many others I really enjoyed making and using.

Depends what you consider for "opportunity", would you do it for free and just have a cut at the end of a month based on the profit?

I've reached out to projects that aren't profitable at all, just side-projects I thought were cool. If someone builds a project I think is cool, I sometimes want to help out in a way that benefits them and I enjoy, even when their is no money involved.
