I don't know about credibility but I use clamav and it was able to detect a (windows?) virus on my USB stick when I plugged it in while running Linux and removed the virus as well. That was useful.

Your "except" is pretty big to be put in "except".

Apart from that, simply resistance from users, who are not really "computer people" and basically know that clicking the "w" icon launches the application on which letters can be drafted, is not a small matter. I hope the training programmes are well planned to cover that aspect.

Resistance to change from non "computer people", as you put it, has nothing to do with something Microsoft can do. And concerning the bribery, yes, I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the main reason linux and free software in general didn't get more adoption.

Not only in India but even present day UK magazines (e.g. Linux Format) come with DVDs.

More important than #1 or #2 (and probably easier to verify based on the tendency of version control systems to retain logs/history): he deleted a co-worker's code based on grudge.

Agree 100% - see edit.

But in this case the amount (it is also time/frustration but lets keep it simple) I would save due to not having to deal with shitty car dealerships is x times lower than what I'll spend on the EV due to its much higher cost. Granted it is a better car etc., but from the point of view of the above argument, I'm not left with 6 francs I could spend on other things; I just spent 36 francs on the EV and am short of 30 francs I could save on other things. Of course if you can say that the additional taxes Tesla will pay due to this will go around/trickle down etc. but I think from NJ politician's point of view, that is a much longer/circuitous route compared to be seen as saving local accountant/receptionist jobs (which is attractive from election/vote point of view).

To be clear, I'm not supporting the move. EVs are the future and the sooner we embrace them the better. Just trying to see it in the light of the argument made above.

Thanks for the link to precomplied executables. I gave up on installing as per github instructions since on my OpenSUSE 12.2, running npm returns a strange error ("node: symbol lookup error: node: undefined symbol: _ZN2v811HandleScopeC1Ev") and I can't seem to find a way to install grunt.

I'm a bit tired of most of the taboos/problems of India being "mostly in villages". My entire family are city dwellers and every time there is an commercial for sanitary napkins on TV, the women have an expression of embarrassment and can't wait for it to get over (whereas scenes of violence from the movies are received perfectly fine).
