Not really, I'm mostly lurking in Russian-speaking Telegram channels. The visa for nomads there is pretty straightforward (basically 1.5k usd per adult + 0.5k per kid income requirement) and it's definitely more expensive than Phuket, but other than that my knowledge is very sparse
If you ever feel hopeless and want to catch up in a call to let it out, let me know. Been there, and was luckily able to get out because of no kids. The idea of being stuck with that person would have likely killed me, without a social net that could help in the most difficult moments.

We had 5 (all over 18 now). I got out of it because she started hanging with the nearby homeless community and found other guys go glom onto.
Then one night, while I was asleep on the sofa, she came home and emptied out her bedroom (hoarded to the ceiling). I was one door away and never stirred. I just work up and the room was completely empty.
I am sorry for your loss. There's a million things to say and none of them would sound right. That could have been my way out too in many occasions, but it wasn't. Heal. There's a lot of us in this process. Feel free to hit me up if things get out of hand.
Happy to see KAUST and Saudi Arabian research on the front page of HN, especially in this domain, considering the stakes the country has in the field of renewable energy.
Yes, the researchers are as Saudi Arabian as Messi and Ronaldo. The only innovation happening in Saudi Arabia is labor innovation i.e. indentured workers from South Asia on one side and overpaid Europeans expats on the other. I'm skeptical that Saudi Arabia can buy their way into creating a non oil economy.
I did some work for KAUST a few years back, and spoke to many people who relocated from Universities all around Europe. Projects that were having problems getting funded at their previous institutions were happily funded by KAUST.
This is going to sound offensive but KAUST, PIF, Aramco, Neom are full of mediocre talent from mostly Europe - who do you think is interested in a dead end job and moving to Saudi Arabia to work for some idiot royals? The best talent stays put or moves to the US where actual value gets generated. The Saudis are also too racist to actually recruit from Asia/Africa where they stand a chance of attracting better talent.
Great progress on this front. I will try it out soon. One question: is the self hosted version meant to be used deploying a local instance of clickhouse, or by connecting to managed clickhouse cloud [or both are possible]?
By default, our hobby deployment reads from a local copy of clickhouse. If you want to point it to a cloud-hosted version, it would be pretty easy to adjust environment variables accordingly.
