this is really, really cool.

The headline is a bit misleading because it doesn't state that Ozempic is a product made by Novo Nordisk. When you take that into consideration, this article becomes less about a study and more of a pharmaceutical company making promotional material for their own product.

When you take into consideration that drug companies don't fund studies unless it is for a substance they can monetize, it is not misleading, but expected that it is one of their products.

I thought it was common knowledge, and was impressed that the title mentions that the study was (bought) by them.

In the months leading up to the Russia's october revolution in 1917, citizens learned that it was much easier to just wear the badge of support for the revolution than be publicly harassed and ostracized by supporters. This passivity is what ultimately allowed the bolsheviks to gain power to in Russia's government and helped kick off events that plunged the country into decades of famine and misery. while the context and scenario here is different, 'eating the shame' is a very slippery slope.

For a reliable pickup truck in the US, Nissan Frontiers have been very trustworthy. Up until this past year, they were known for having a very "old" looking dashboard because the interior had not been updated since the early 2010s. Despite that, it continues to be one of Nissan's most popular vehicles and some would consider it to be the best in their lineup.

I love the latest live version of this song. Great drum work at the start of the song and the verses are more sung instead of spoken. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpZxwe4SXY8

This band is truly amazing and they just keep getting better. Their recent live albums from 2017-2018 are some of their best releases. I think HN would really appreciate the technical talent of this band.

Here's Danny Carey (Drummer from Tool) talking about this album and how the title track influenced his style. https://youtu.be/SsxSm1xCR-E?t=175 You can definitely hear how that song influenced Tool's signature sound years later.

Wow, I had never heard this album before and I started listening to the first song Elephant Talk before finishing the article. My first reaction was "this sounds a lot like Primus" and at the end of the article Primus was indeed mentioned as being influenced by this album.

Those first few notes of Discipline had the same effect on me but s/Primus/Tool.

Les Claypool's post Primus band covers a song from Discipline.

Primus / Les Claypool were also influenced by The Residents, another obscure band of inarguably talented musicians and artists creating art and music for a distinctly discerning and uncommon palate.

Gingerbread Man[0], as a visual and aural experience, is uniquely disturbing in a most enthralling fashion.

Yes, for example Tool openly took inspiration from "Frame by frame" to write 7empest, for which they won a Grammy.

It sounds like a joke, but this exact thing was discussed at the world science festival as a way to get people to stop eating red meat. https://twitter.com/spinte8/status/1407258675358715907

How funny, there's a second video with an argument that I like to make as a joke/thought experiment: https://twitter.com/spinte8/status/1407263430030020610

What I usually says is something like this: if we're all equal no matter our physical differences, shouldn't we aim to have the smallest population possible? We would consume less food for the same output.

Not a dupe. The earlier thread from 3 days ago is about the announcement that a bill would be proposed to make bitcoin legal tender. This thread is from the news from several hours ago that the bill officially passed into law by Salvadoran Congress.

887.5km = ~551.46 miles

should have opted for the four minute courses ;)
