> Absolutely no enduser knows what 'GPT' stands for

But there is no need to know what it stands for.

The Nest smoke detector microphone was never really secret. It was part of the monthly self test to determine if the alarm was working. It would send you a notification telling you it was going to sound the alarm and that it would be listening for the sound to confirm it was working.

It was listed in the features for the 2nd gen units. https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9229922#zippy=%...

Edit: That article isn't about the Nest Protect (smoke detector), it's about the Nest Secure, an alarm system.

Organic food still uses pesticides.

The UK is still in Europe. They didn't move from the continent.

That service interval is pretty common across all bike suspension forks (and dropper posts are usually only around 50 hours).

A SR Suntour fork has a 100 hour maintenance interval, for example.

Both Netflix and HBO already have ads.

A GMC Savannah is not a mini-van.

> EBS only lets you resize once every 6–24 hours

Is that even true? I've resized an EBS instance a few minutes after another resize before.

AWS documents it as "After modifying a volume, you must wait at least six hours and ensure that the volume is in the in-use or available state before you can modify the same volume" but community posts suggest you can get up to 8 resizes in the six hour window.

The 6-hour counter is most certainly, painfully true. If you work with an AWS rep please complain about this in every session; maybe if we all do they will reduce the counter :P.

They didn't actually do a recall for that. Instead it was a "voluntary upgrade" program. That is also not a less serious issue.

The Europa Clipper mission saved $3B+ just by switching from SLS to Falcon Heavy.
