Yup support for devanagiri font is not there. Weirdly, i remember this not being the case on froyo, but on gingerbread its gone.

// Also, from your username, are you also a fellow nepali ?

Nepali/devnagari is not here in HTC too. Is there any work around to support nepali unicode in Android ?

I believe this is common in all android devices runnning gingerbread. What version are you running ?

Also, i asked r/andoid folks running ICS to check for the same, looks like ICS had added devanagiri suppport.

> PS. 112 in Europe.

This explains. My old phone with a physical keyboard would allow me to dial 112 even when it was locked.

It's part of the GSM spec to always allow a 112 call - even with no SIM or no account for the phone.

It's a bit of a problem in some countries - you get a lot of 'butt dialed' 112 calls - and the protocol in many jurisdictions if you have an emergency call and no voice is to assume the worst and send fire+police+medics

IIRC it was an British Agent.

Does the back button + Home combo (works for Galaxy S) not work for S2 ?

The Indian leader Mayawati has already demanded that there should be reservation for SC/ST/OBC in Lokpal members.

If this continues, I dont see JLB being any effective in rooting out corruption. It will end up being just another layer of bureocracy.

These kind of shits happens in politics in every country with some twist.

I had discussion with one of my friend in UK and stated his statement - "UK has faced riots for 15 days and India has peaceful movement for 15 days" earlier these statement used to be reverse.

Change always take time.

You are correct. Full agreement.

I guess this means $35 tablet is only vaporware.

Interested in CS, ended up doing Mech Engg, Worked for of those TCS/Infy type software houses in India.

Anecdote: First year in engineering, we had this computers course, so the lecturer was teaching about input and output devices (Yes they teach this even in engineering). He goes on "Computer pheriperals are either input OR output devices"

One student raised his hand and asked, "Sir, what about the touchscrens like in ATMs ?" (Touchscreen mobiles were not common, yet)

Lecturer goes silent for a minute, and replies "Son, dont try to be oversmart in my class"

-- Just something I saw. Not saying they are that bad everywhere.

tried that. failed at it. asked my girlfriend to change my facebook password. clicked the 'forgot password' link 2 days later.
