Apartheid South Africa's economy was already experiencing troubles as far back as the 1970s and 1980s. All of that happened despite a majority of the population being marginalized and mainly used as a cheap source of labour.
Respectfully; this forum encourages discussion. It is not good enough to say Ukrainians are neighbours and would integrate better than refugees from other countries.
At the expense of devolving into whataboutism, Eastern and Western Europe do have their genuine cultural differences. Will the western world still be as accommodating of Eastern European refugees in ten or twenty years?

I am not sure the argument for corruption adds up, given Ukraine's global corruption perception index scores are comparable to developing nations in Africa and Asia.
I see this statement a lot, but I am yet to see it substantiated. My home country hosts hundreds of thousands of refugees[1] however, speaking anecdotally, integrating people is difficult despite common ethnicities, languages, religions and cultures.
As a black African, I still have sympathy for the people of Ukraine. Even on this forum, I have been accused of "stupid whining" when commenting on the plight of brown, foreign students who happen to be caught in this war.

The western world has been racist and proud of it for centuries, only recently are many seeing the problem with this world view.
Even with the blatant racism and double standards from news channels and European countries over the past few months, many still act like they are unaware of the root cause and dance around the issue.
To add to what GP commented here [1], African and Asian students studying in Ukraine do not deserve to discriminated against by Ukrainians, irrespective of the current difficult circumstances.
Your claims are still unsubstantiated and even then, these students, bystanders in a foreign war, have a right to safe passage without harassment from Ukrainian border guards or civilians.
Stupid whining. There are reports of children who have walked days to reach the border because these convoys are just blocked. These cry babies were able to wait a little. I said women and children are the priority, which obviously means women with children first, if it this obvious thing was not understandable. This is very stressful situation and you should maintain your calm. When you loose it and start a tantrum, you are not treated well in such situations.
I'll just remind you that the source article cites accounts from African women who just happen to be students in Ukraine in the middle of this unfortunate conflict. The rest of your still unsubstantiated comments are not worth repeating.
